5. Build Your Next Gen Networking Knowledge

To develop the next generation of technology, we know you have to first develop talent. Our engineering students and staff undergo all sorts of bootcamps to train them on topics like Linux, Python, and OpenStack. We also host and organize events where we train the industry along with CENGN employees on next generation technologies to create a talented workforce within Canada.

6. Tech Meetups & Events

We organize and host all kinds of events focused on open source, OpenStack, and other technologies related to networking. Many of CENGN’s recurring meetups are locally managed groups that are passionate about network transformation. This gives you an opportunity to meet face to face with other open networking enthusiasts in the region, share ideas and insights, and work collaboratively to overcome the challenges of Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Management and Orchestration (MANO), cloud, data analytics, and the acceleration of underlying infrastructures. Not to mention the opportunity to present your work and enjoy some beer and pizza with like-minded techies.

7. Busy Times Ahead

CENGN is government funded by the NCE and Ontario government. These two organizations are the ones that are backing all the innovation and awesome technological advancements being made at CENGN. We have lots of work cut out for us to fulfill the NCE’s CECR Program and the Ontario Government’s Next Generation Network Program, so we are looking to hire people with the drive and vision to help more businesses commercialize their products.

8. Innovation Nation

Our head office is located in the Kanata North BIA, which is an absolute hive of technology companies. We also have a stellar view overlooking the Marshes Golf Club towards the Gatineau Hills and Ottawa. You’ll be right in the center of it all at CENGN HQ, where there are constant opportunities for learning events, networking/training, and demonstrations.

9. Lunches & Socials

We put on all kinds of internal events at CENGN to make sure our team is always learning and having fun. We hold company-wide lunch and learns so everyone gets the chance to geek out on the latest CENGN projects and other developments. We also hold socials where we gather as a group to celebrate our achievements, as well as host a weekly video game lunch!
